Welcome to The Animal Law

Where knowledge is key and kindness is power

The Animal Law was a long time in the making and the only Fear Fear pet care in Bakersfield, CA. Our passion lies in creating a positive environment, and positive enrichment, for your domestic pets. And, our focus is on balanced, comfortable pet care to give your pet a structured, enriching vacation while you are away.

As a Fear Free facility, we follow a strict set of standards to keep your pet as comfortable and stress-free as possible while in our care. A part of this process means providing calming music in sleeping spaces, along with pheromones used to soothe dogs while they adjust to their new, temporary environment. Groups are split according to energy, personality, and play style. So, no dog is stuck with a dog who is way more wild than them and feeling pressured to play if they do not want to. A huge part of Fear Free is having the expertise and skill to recognize signs of stress and then trying to combat that.

About "The Law"

Tending to the Natural Needs of Your Animal Friends

My name is Bre Law and I have been nothing but an animal nut since I was born. I was raised in the AKC world; in conformation, obedience, rally, and agility. I grew away from the show dog world and graduated into rescue and sport dog work. I made a career as a veterinary technician, for 13 years, before finding that caring for people's pets in a stress-free environment and providing advice and expertise was significantly more fulfilling for me. My goals shifted after becoming Fear Free certified and realizing how hard it is to find veterinary practices or pet care facilities that will follow these standards of care. So, I decided I would at least provide this kind of care myself. I have also co-owned and operated a doggie daycare as well as a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue focusing on herding dogs.

I recently lost my 6-year-old Border Collie, and partner in crime, named Poe and we had dabbled in obedience, rally, agility, disc work, herding, trick training, and dock diving. I now have a staffy/husky/GSD mix named Leeta who is an energizer bunny that never stops. I also have 2 cats, my oldest being King Arthur, the 8-year-old Maine Coon mutt cat, who I also practice trick training with. And, our newest addition is 6-month-old Cyan who is all purrs, snuggles, and play. Having had a variety of breeds I have worked with, and two wonderful kitties, did nothing but further ignite my passion for providing an enriching life to all domestic pets according to their specific needs and interests.

"I was especially fond of animals, and was indulged by my parents with a great variety of pets. With these I spent most of my time, and never was so happy as when feeding and caressing them."
